UX Research Training

Course Description: User research is at center of all value-generating UX activities. However, user research does not only mean User Testing. Rather, it starts with Field Studies and ends with User Testing. This UX Research Training provides your team with UXR techniques that help you define UX product-service strategy and make smarter design decisions. You will learn how to define user-centered features & functionality as well as how to address desirability & usability design problems and opportunities.

Course Highlights:

  1. Two-sided User Research: Learn “mixed methods,” including user testing and field studies. The techniques you will learn are tried and tested at Experience Dynamics. Learn how we do User Research, understanding when and where to deploy each technique for best impact.

  2. Two-sided User Research UX starts with Field Studies and typically ends with User testing. Learn to prepare for and conduct Rapid Ethnography Field Studies and rapid User testing. 

  3. Findings & Insights: Learn to capture and analyze user data. Learn to present design recommendations for greater buy-in using Storytelling for UX. 

  4. Persona & Journey Mapping: Learn to create Persona and Journey Maps quickly and bypass problems with creating accurate personas and journeys.

Course Format: The course combines hands-on user research, group discussions, and how-to toolkits. Participants will engage in practical exercises that simulate real-world scenarios.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand User Research: You will learn research techniques pros and cons, when and how to deploy, and ethics.
  2. Deploy Field Studies: Design, prepare, and deploy a Field Study. Learn Ethnography and contextual inquiry interviewing techniques for quality data gathering with users, including users with disabilities and underrepresented user groups for Inclusive Design efforts.
  3. Conduct User Testing: Utilize User Testing knowledge, moderating tests and gaining useful user insights.
  4. Create Persona & Journey maps: Create credible evidence-based Persona and Journey Maps that improve design impact.
